SkyUI replaces Skyrim's console-first menus with an interface built for a mouse and keyboard. It is the most recognisable Skyrim mod there has ever been, and after more than a decade it is still the first thing most people install.
WHAT IT CHANGES
Inventory, container, barter, magic and crafting menus become dense sortable lists with columns, search and item cards, instead of a single scrolling column that shows one item at a time. The favourites menu becomes a grouped hotkey system. Everything is readable at desktop viewing distance rather than living-room distance.
THE MOD CONFIGURATION MENU
SkyUI carries the MCM — the in-game settings framework that a very large share of other Skyrim mods use for their own options. This is why SkyUI is a dependency for mods that have nothing to do with the interface: without it, they have no settings screen.

REQUIRES
Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE64) matching your game version. Without SKSE, SkyUI loads in a reduced state and shows a persistent warning.
WORKS WITH
Almost everything. Where another mod also replaces a menu, install its SkyUI patch — several popular UI mods ship one.
CONFLICTS WITH
Other full interface replacements. Individual widget mods are generally fine.
SAVE GAMES
Safe to add or remove at any point. It is presentation, not game data.
Installation
1. Install SKSE64 first and confirm the game launches through skse64_loader.exe.
2. Install SkyUI through your mod manager.
3. Launch the game. The MCM takes a few seconds to register on first load — wait for the "Mod Configuration Menu has been registered" notification before opening it.
4. Open System → Mod Configuration to reach SkyUI's own options and those of every other mod that uses the MCM.
IF THE MCM NEVER APPEARS
It is almost always SKSE: either not installed, not matching your game version, or the game was started from the normal launcher instead of skse64_loader.exe.
This release downloads from nexusmods.com, not from us, so
there is no checksum to compare against. Scan the archive before you unpack it.
