Forge Config API Port

Overview

NeoForge's & Forge's config systems provided to other modding ecosystems. Designed for a multiloader architecture.

Forge Config API Port is a developer library that brings the Forge and NeoForge configuration systems to other mod loaders. It allows mods to use familiar Forge or NeoForge style configs across Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge without maintaining separate configuration implementations. 📦

This mod is intended for mod developers and as a dependency for supported mods. It does not allow Forge mods to run on Fabric, nor does it provide any form of general mod compatibility between loaders. 🔧

By preserving the original APIs, package names, and behavior as closely as possible, the mod makes it easier to maintain multiloader projects and share configuration code between platforms. This helps reduce platform-specific code and keeps configuration handling consistent across supported mod loaders. 🔄

- 📦 Configuration Library: Brings the Forge and NeoForge configuration systems to additional mod loaders while preserving their familiar APIs.

- 🔄 Cross Loader Config Support: Use Forge configs on Fabric and NeoForge, or NeoForge configs on Fabric and Forge.

- 🧩 No Refactoring Required: Preserves original package names and class names, allowing existing config implementations to be ported with little to no code changes.

- 🏗️ Built for Multiloader Projects: Define and register configs in a shared common module instead of maintaining separate platform specific implementations.

- ♻️ Shared Configuration Code: Keep a single configuration setup across supported loaders, reducing duplication and simplifying maintenance.

- ⚡ Native Where Available: No additional library is required on loaders where the chosen configuration system is already built in, keeping dependencies to a minimum for users.

⏩ INSTALLATION REQUIRED ON CLIENT & REQUIRED ON SERVER

⏩ REQUIRES FABRIC API TO BE INSTALLED (FABRIC)

🌟 Thanks to the Forge & NeoForge teams for creating and maintaining the configuration API this project is based on!

ABOUT THIS LISTING

This page describes Forge Config API Port by Fuzs. The description and screenshots are the author's own, imported from their listing on Modrinth on 14 August 2026: https://modrinth.com/mod/forge-config-api-port

Mythiq hosts no files for it. The download button goes straight to the release file on cdn.modrinth.com, so you are downloading from the author's own host, not from a copy of ours.

The download count, rating and comments on this page start at zero and count Mythiq only. The source's own figures are not copied here — they measure a different site, and a number that cannot be checked against our own ledger is not worth printing.

Requirements

Game version
  • 26.2
MOD LOADER

This release is built for Fabric. A mod built for one loader will not load under another — Fabric mods do not run on Forge, and vice versa.

GAME VERSION

Built for Minecraft 26.2. Minecraft mods are tied to an exact version: a 1.21.4 build will refuse to load on 1.21.5.

THIS IS A LIBRARY

On its own it adds nothing you can see. It is here because other mods require it, and installing it is usually something another mod asked you to do.

DEPENDENCIES

Check the author's listing for required libraries before you start the game — a missing dependency shows up as a crash on launch, not as a warning.

Installation

1. Install Fabric for the Minecraft version you play, if you have not already.

2. Download the .jar with the button on this page. Do not unzip it — a mod jar is installed as it is.

3. Put it in your mods folder:

Windows — %APPDATA%\.minecraft\mods

macOS — ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods

Linux — ~/.minecraft/mods

4. Launch the game with the Fabric profile selected.

ON A SERVER

Anything that changes world generation or gameplay has to be installed on the server as well as on every client. Client-side visual and interface mods do not.

UPDATING

Replace the old .jar rather than adding the new one beside it. Two versions of the same mod in the folder is a crash on launch.

This release downloads from cdn.modrinth.com, not from us, so there is no checksum to compare against. Scan the archive before you unpack it.
