Skyrim Special Edition Gameplay & overhauls

Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim

Overview

Rebuilds all eighteen perk trees with over four hundred perks, turning levelling into actual character building.

Ordinator replaces every one of Skyrim's eighteen perk trees with a new one, adding more than four hundred perks in total. Where vanilla perks mostly multiply a number, Ordinator's change what a build can do.

WHAT IT CHANGES

Each tree gains distinct branches that pull a skill in different directions — Alteration can go towards battlemage armour or towards manipulating the world, Alchemy towards poisons or towards field support, Smithing towards equipment or towards a genuinely different playstyle. Several trees gain mechanics that simply do not exist in the base game.

The result is that two characters who both maxed the same skill can play nothing alike, which is the thing vanilla Skyrim conspicuously does not offer.

It is written to be compatible: light, clean scripting, and it deliberately avoids touching records outside the perk trees, which is why it appears alongside almost every other overhaul rather than instead of them.

Requirements

Game versions
  • 1.6.1170
  • 1.6.640
  • 1.5.97
Required DLC
  • Dawnguard
  • Hearthfire
  • Dragonborn

You need this content installed for the mod to work.

REQUIRES

All three DLC. SkyUI is strongly recommended — several Ordinator perks are far easier to read in the SkyUI perk interface.

CONFLICTS WITH

Other perk overhauls. Only one mod can own the perk trees.

WORKS WITH

Combat, magic and survival overhauls generally, and with the author's other mods by design. Patches exist for the larger combat overhauls.

SAVE GAMES

Adding it mid-playthrough works but leaves you with perks spent in trees that no longer exist. Use a perk-refund mod at the same time, or start fresh. Removing it mid-playthrough is not supported.

Installation

1. Install through your mod manager.

2. Run LOOT. Ordinator wants to load after other gameplay mods so its perk records win.

3. Install any patches for combat or magic overhauls you also run — the Nexus page lists the ones the author maintains.

4. On a new character, just play. On an existing one, refund your perks first or you will be carrying points spent on perks that were replaced.

TO UNINSTALL

Not supported mid-playthrough. Perks are baked into the save; removing the mod leaves your character holding references to perks that no longer exist.
