Cobblemon is an open-source Pokémon mod for Fabric and NeoForge.
The goal of Cobblemon is to be the Pokémon mod for everyone, and to integrate much better into modpacks and Minecraft itself than other Pokémon mods. Our source code is open to encourage not only community contributions, but also forking.
Features (so far!):
- Capture Pokémon to expand your team, battle wild Pokémon to gain experience, level up to unlock new moves, and evolve your Pokémon. There are over 800 Pokémon to catch!
- Battles using the Pokémon Showdown! engine for accurate competitive battle mechanics.
- Some Legends Arceus-style mechanics, such as move relearning, physically running from battle, and evolving your Pokémon when you decide.
- Toggle free-movement during battles. You can build, mine, or fight mobs while in Pokémon battles!
- Record the Pokémon you see and catch with a Pokédex. They come with a scanning feature to analyze wild Pokémon!
- Explore the Minecraft world in style by riding your Pokémon!
- Engage in tough battles with Alpha Pokémon that can be caught or defeated for rewards!
- You can trade and battle with your friends in multiplayer.
- Let your Pokémon roam free wherever you want using pastures!
- Berries which can be found in the wild, grown on farmland, mulched for bonuses, and cross-bred to mutate new berries.
- Medicine items can be made by putting crops and berries into a brewing stand. Brewed potions heal more!
- Ancient structures in the world to discover. Some of these structures have gilded chests, which may contain valuable loot or other surprises!
- Fossils can be found by excavating suspicious gravel or sand at certain locations, which can then be revived using a resurrection machine.
- All Pokémon from generations 1 to 9 can be spawned and battled with, but if they don't have a model yet then they will display as a substitute doll.
- Support for many biome mods, including Terralith, Oh The Biomes You'll Go, and William Wythers' Overhauled Overworld. There's a growing list of others with support too!
- Full support for custom variations and fakemon using data packs and resource packs. You can find out how to do it using our guide!
- Cobbled Farms, a tutorial world built by our team to guide you through the features of the mod in an interactive way. It also comes with our official modpacks!
- Support for both Fabric and NeoForge - though we recommend playing on Fabric because it has better performance!
- ... and many more to come!
Installation
Fabric:
- Requires the recommended Fabric Loader version for your version of Minecraft.
- Requires Fabric API.
- Put Fabric API and Cobblemon-Fabric in the mods folder.
NeoForge:
- Requires the recommended NeoForge version for your version of Minecraft.
- Requires Kotlin for Forge.
- Put Kotlin for Forge and Cobblemon-NeoForge in the mods folder.
That's it, you're ready to go! If you have trouble installing, get help in our Discord at the link below.
Alternatively, you can download the official Cobblemon modpack on Modrinth or CurseForge! We recommend downloading the modpack with the Modrinth App, but Prism Launcher is also a good alternative launcher that can download modpacks from any of these sites.
Notice: Cobblemon does NOT have an official server. You can find a list of public servers on our website, or in the #server-listings channel in our Discord, and add them to the multiplayer menu. Alternatively, you can buy your own server from hosts such as BisectHosting.
Note: The Cobblemon mod is still in development and is being actively updated. There are many features that are work-in-progress or placeholders until things are finished. There are also some existing features that will be getting more polish as we keep moving. Many more features are planned, including but not limited to things like NPCs, riding Pokémon, breeding, and structures.

ABOUT THIS LISTING
This page describes Cobblemon by CobbledStudios. The description and screenshots are the author's own, imported from their listing on Modrinth on 3 October 2026: https://modrinth.com/mod/cobblemon
Mythiq.net hosts no files for it. The download button goes straight to the release file on cdn.modrinth.com, so you are downloading from the author's own host, not from a copy of ours.
The download count, rating and comments on this page start at zero and count Mythiq.net only. The source's own figures are not copied here — they measure a different site, and a number that cannot be checked against our own ledger is not worth printing.

Requirements
Game version
1.21.1
MOD LOADER
This release is built for Fabric. A mod built for one loader will not load under another — Fabric mods do not run on Forge, and vice versa.
GAME VERSION
Built for Minecraft 1.21.1. Minecraft mods are tied to an exact version: a 1.21.4 build will refuse to load on 1.21.5.
DEPENDENCIES
Check the author's listing for required libraries before you start the game — a missing dependency shows up as a crash on launch, not as a warning.
Installation
1. Install Fabric for the Minecraft version you play, if you have not already.
2. Download the .jar with the button on this page. Do not unzip it — a mod jar is installed as it is.
4. Launch the game with the Fabric profile selected.
ON A SERVER
Anything that changes world generation or gameplay has to be installed on the server as well as on every client. Client-side visual and interface mods do not.
UPDATING
Replace the old .jar rather than adding the new one beside it. Two versions of the same mod in the folder is a crash on launch.
This release downloads from cdn.modrinth.com, not from us, so
there is no checksum to compare against. Scan the archive before you unpack it.
Animation updates for the following Pokémon
- Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin, Hydrapple (placeholder animations only).
Fixes
- Fixed a potential world generation stall caused by Type Gem clusters.
- Fixed Pokémon on shoulders not animating if they are visibly holding a held item.
- Fixed NPCs getting their own TM progress file.
- Fixed odd NeoForge crash due to a dependency being outdated. It will now correctly flag the dependency for being outdated.
- Fixed the TM Machine refusing move selections that the unlockAllMoveDexMovesByDefault config had made visible, leaving the move slot blank and the craft button unresponsive.
- Fixed the Beast Ball not applying its 0.1× penalty to Pokémon that are not Ultra Beasts.
- Fixed the Moon Ball reading the world's total elapsed time instead of the time of day, so its bonus applied during the day instead.
- Fixed the Love Ball never awarding its 2.5× opposite gender bonus, and matching species by display name instead of identifier.
- Fixed the Timer Ball being weaker than a regular Poké Ball on early turns and only reaching 4× on turn 14 instead of turn 10.
- Fixed the Luxury Ball only doubling Friendship gains of 1, leaving level up and berry gains unaffected.
- Fixed Rufflet, Braviary, and Hisuian Braviary flooding logs with errors about missing sound events.
- Fixed Pokémon property typos in Pangoro and Dedenne herd spawn files.
- Fixed unintentional watermelon cosmetic for Hisuian Electrode.
- Fixed Blastoise having an unintentional passenger seat.
- Fixed form typo in Rockruff-Dusk spawn, preventing it from being able to spawn.
- Fixed the stat_compare and stat_equal evolution requirements crashing the game when given special_attack or special_defence, and made them treat any non-permanent stat as a failed requirement instead of crashing.
- Fixed Rowap and Jacoba berries not correctly altering Pokémon sizes when used as bait.
- Fixed Ampharos' eyes not emitting particles.
- Fixed Alolan Raticate's cry not playing.
- Fixed several incorrect light-based spawning conditions for ghosts and bugs.
- Removed unused, placeholder habitat pools.
- Fixed Mantyke, Mantine, and Quaxly getting stuck in a recoil 'expression' during battles due to having an expression assigned as a recoil animation.
- Fixed Lucario's aura particles not emitting.
- Fixed Lycanroc's head movement.
- Added head movement to Archaludon.
- Fixed Duraludon line not having their sleep animations.
- Fixed Diglett line not having their faint animations.
- Fixed Kingambit moving its legs while walking.
