A Quark is a very small thing. This mod is a collection of small things...
About
Warning: Quark Requires Zeta for 1.20.1 onwards, or AutoRegLib for 1.19.2 and prior.
Quark is a fully modular minecraft mod, named after the subatomic particle. In simpler terms, it's a large mod with lots of small features, aimed at improving the vanilla game.
Every feature can be turned on and off individually at your will, and most features contain further options to tweak the game just how you like it.
With quark installed, the title screen will get a new "q" button added to it. This button allows you to configure quark from inside the game, so you can easily turn off any features you don't vibe with.
Features
Quark has over a hundred different modules to play with, but here's a small highlight reel of our favorites:
Feeding Trough, for automatic animal breeding
Pistons Push Tile Entities, just like in Bedrock Edition
Japanese and Industrial style building blocks
Variant versions for Bookshelves, Chests, and Ladders for all wood types
Vertical Slabs, for all slabs already in the base game and Quark
Advanced Camera Mode for fancy screenshots
Toretoises, typo intended - new underground animals that grow ore on their back
Pickarang, a pickaxe that can be thrown as a boomerang
Trowel, a new tool to place random blocks from your hotbar, for paths or ruins
Emote system, allowing your character to do all sorts of motions from the chat menu
Reacharound Placing, which lets you place blocks under other blocks without being able to see the bottom face
Azalea Wood, replacing the Oak wood in Azalea trees with a pleasant green
Glimmering Weald, a new rare deep underground biome with glowing mushrooms and a cute new stone fae mob
And many, many more!

Compatibility
Quark has built-in compatibility for a few mods, including JEI and TerraBlender.
Quark may be incompatible with Optifine. If you are having issues using the two together, please uninstall Optifine and use a Sodium fork instead.
Additionally, if you are experiencing load crashes on 1.20.1, make sure your other mods are up to date, as any mods with integration from older versions will not function until updated.
ABOUT THIS LISTING
This page describes Quark by Vazkii. The description and screenshots are the author's own, imported from their listing on Modrinth on 24 October 2026: https://modrinth.com/mod/quark
Mythiq.net hosts no files for it. The download button goes straight to the release file on cdn.modrinth.com, so you are downloading from the author's own host, not from a copy of ours.
The download count, rating and comments on this page start at zero and count Mythiq.net only. The source's own figures are not copied here — they measure a different site, and a number that cannot be checked against our own ledger is not worth printing.
Requirements
Game version
1.21.1
MOD LOADER
This release is built for Neoforge. A mod built for one loader will not load under another — Fabric mods do not run on Forge, and vice versa.
GAME VERSION
Built for Minecraft 1.21.1. Minecraft mods are tied to an exact version: a 1.21.4 build will refuse to load on 1.21.5.
DEPENDENCIES
Check the author's listing for required libraries before you start the game — a missing dependency shows up as a crash on launch, not as a warning.
Installation
1. Install Neoforge for the Minecraft version you play, if you have not already.
2. Download the .jar with the button on this page. Do not unzip it — a mod jar is installed as it is.
4. Launch the game with the Neoforge profile selected.
ON A SERVER
Anything that changes world generation or gameplay has to be installed on the server as well as on every client. Client-side visual and interface mods do not.
UPDATING
Replace the old .jar rather than adding the new one beside it. Two versions of the same mod in the folder is a crash on launch.
This release downloads from cdn.modrinth.com, not from us, so
there is no checksum to compare against. Scan the archive before you unpack it.

Quark 4.1-487 For Neoforge 1.21.1
Fixes
- Partial fix for #5667: [Bug] NPE in TinyPotatoModel.isCustomRenderer during ModifyBakingResult (Map.compute inserts null entry)
- This does not fix the root issue but should prevent a crash with Continuity+Connector installed
Additions
- Merged #5673 [1.21] Give Quark mobs the ability to wear hats (thanks hedgehog1029!)
- If Create is installed, Quark's mobs can now wear conductor hats in the relevant context. Here is a picture:
- Expanded Item Interactions now has an option to invert clicks (use left-clicks for the interaction instead of right-clicks).
- Similar to 1.21.2+ bundles
- Some JEI hints may be incorrect if this is enabled, but the tooltip hints will be correct (at least for en_us)
