LFG Group Bulletin Board

GBB provides an overview of the endless requests in the chat channels. It detects all requests to the classic dungeons, sorts them and presents them clearly way. Numerous filtering options reduce the gigantic number to exactly the dungeons that interest you. And if that's not enough, GBB will let you know about any new request via a sound or chat notification. 
Currently, English, German, French and Russian dungeons are recognized natively. But it is easily possible to adapt GBB to any language.

 

 

Usage

GBB searches the chat messages for dungeon requests in the background. To whisper a person, simply click on the entry with the left mouse button. For a "/who" a shift + left click is enough. The dungeon list can be filtered in the settings. You can also fold this by left-clicking on the dungeon name.
Old entries are filtered out after 150 seconds.

 

Slash Commands
 can be true, 1, enable, false, 0, disable. If is omitted, the current status switches.
/gbb notify chat  - On new request make a chat notification
/gbb notify sound  - On new request make a sound notification
/gbb debug  - Show debug information
/gbb reset - Reset main window position
/gbb config/setup/options - Open configuration
/gbb about - open about
/gbb help - Print help
/gbb - open main window

/gbb chat organize/clean - Creates a new chat tab if one doesn't already exist, named "LFG" with all channels subscribed. Removes LFG heavy spam channels from default chat tab

 

NOTE: If file doesn't download just go to the "File" tab and download from there

This is just an update adding TBC support to an abandoned add-on.

With the addition of support for TBC, probably introduced a ton of bugs.

Please provide feedback on having separate panels for classic and tbc dungeons. With the addition of support for TBC, probably introduced a ton of bugs so comment on that too (50/50 on falling on deaf ears)

 

New Feature: 

New feature introduces  that helps organize lfg chat spam.

/gbb chat organize/clean

It will create a new chat tab that has all the spammy lfg channels, it also removes those channels from your default chat tab and it will enable chat notification. This makes all the lfg spam be in a single chat tab that you yourself never have to open. The add-on will do the filtering and notify you on the default chat tab once a match has been found. Or you can just open the add on and see the organized requests. 

 

Known Issues/FAQ:

 

Blacklist Words

   Go to settings -> search patterns -> Add words to the blacklist text box -> type /reload in chat

    Go to settings -> search patterns -> make sure that only 1 language is checked

 

LFG Bar is gone

   In the settings you have to find something called "Display LFG Bar" you have to checkmark it then reload UI.

Custom Search Pattern issues

    There is a bit of confusion on how it works which leads people to believe there is a bug. It basically works like this:

         1.  Languages + custom selected: this will result in using all of the languages default values AND anything that has been entered manually

         2. Only custom selected: it will override with the values have been entered. If fields were left blank then the value is blank

         3. Only 1 language selected: it will use the languages default values and ignore anything that has been entered

GAME FLAVOUR

This is a Classic build. Retail and Classic run different interface APIs, and an addon built for one throws Lua errors on the other — check you are installing into the right client folder.

INTERFACE VERSION

Built against game version 1.15.8, 5.5.4, 2.5.6. After a patch, an addon that has not been updated is flagged out of date; most keep working, and the "Load out of date AddOns" checkbox on the character screen lets you try.

DEPENDENCIES

Some addons need a separate library addon (Ace3, LibStub and friends) that is not bundled. If the addon does not appear in the list in game, a missing dependency is the usual reason.

1. Quit World of Warcraft completely. The game reads the AddOns folder at launch and will overwrite settings for an addon added while it is running.

2. Download the archive with the button on this page and unzip it.

3. Move the folder — the one with the .toc file in it, not the zip's wrapper folder — into:

World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns (or _classic_ for the current Classic expansion)

4. Start the game. On the character selection screen, click AddOns and check that it is listed and enabled.

IF IT DOES NOT APPEAR

Nine times out of ten the folder is nested one level too deep. Interface/AddOns/Thing/Thing/Thing.toc will not load; Interface/AddOns/Thing/Thing.toc will.

UPDATING

Delete the old folder before unzipping the new one. Unzipping over the top leaves files behind that the new version no longer expects.
