Sorts your plugins into an order that works, using a community-maintained masterlist of every known conflict, and tells you what is still wrong.
Load order decides which mod wins when two of them change the same thing, and getting it wrong is the most common cause of a Skyrim that crashes on load. LOOT reads your plugins, applies a masterlist that the community maintains for every game it supports, and produces an order that respects the dependencies and known conflicts in it.
WHAT IT ALSO TELLS YOU
Missing masters — a plugin that requires another one you do not have. Plugins that need cleaning in xEdit. Version-specific incompatibilities and mods that are known not to work together. Dirty edits, deleted navmeshes, and messages authors have attached to their own mods.
The masterlist covers the mods it knows; anything else is sorted by the general rules. Your own decisions go in a userlist, which survives every masterlist update, so a rule you set for two mods LOOT has never heard of is not lost the next time you update.
It is not a mod manager and does not install anything. It sorts, it reports, and it is the second thing to run after every change to a load order — the first being your manager.
ABOUT THIS LISTING
This page describes LOOT by The LOOT Team. The description and screenshots are the author's own, imported from their listing on GitHub on 14 August 2026: https://github.com/loot/loot
Mythiq hosts no files for it. The download button goes straight to the release file on github.com, so you are downloading from the author's own host, not from a copy of ours.
The download count, rating and comments on this page start at zero and count Mythiq only. The source's own figures are not copied here — they measure a different site, and a number that cannot be checked against our own ledger is not worth printing.
Requirements
RUN IT THROUGH YOUR MOD MANAGER
Like every other tool here, LOOT started outside Mod Organizer 2 sees the bare game folder. Add it to the executables list.
IT IS NOT INFALLIBLE
LOOT sorts by the rules it has been given. A conflict nobody has reported is a conflict it does not know about, and a load order that sorts cleanly can still be wrong for your particular set of mods. Read the messages it prints rather than only pressing Apply.
Installation
1. Download and unpack the archive, or run the installer build if you prefer one.
2. Add LOOT.exe to your mod manager's executables list and launch it from there.
3. Press Sort, read the messages against each plugin, then Apply.
4. Re-run it after every mod you add or remove.
This release downloads from github.com, not from us, so
there is no checksum to compare against. Scan the archive before you unpack it.
Tell us if something is wrong — a file that will not work, content taken from
someone else, or anything that looks unsafe. Reports go to our review team, not
to the author.
